The Women's Enterprise Task Force has been seeking to recruit 1000 women across the UK as ambassadors for women in business and, by most accounts, it's proving a popular scheme. 100 of them are sought to represent the East Midlands.
I'm still not entirely sure what the 'job description' (it's a voluntary role, of course) is, although they should each reach out to 50 women who are, or are starting, in business. The word 'inspirational' is bandied about a lot, as it always is when discussing support for women in business.
Currently women are only half as likely to be starting up a business as men but, if they started businesses at the same rate, the UK would gain around 750,000 new businesses. Which sounds to me like a task that requires more than a bit of 'inspiration'.
